Whole Foods Markets in Providence Raise Money to Support Sojourner House Domestic Violence Services
During month of January, the two Providence Whole Foods Market locations collected donations for Sojourner House, a domestic violence prevention and intervention agency serving Providence and northern Rhode Island. The total raised was $892, which will go to support the emergency shelter program. In addition, the stores collected donations from patrons of assorted personal care products for Sojourner House shelter residents. Both Whole Foods Market locations also contributed over a dozen cases of shampoo, shower gel, and body lotion.

Sojourner House Receives Cash Infusion to Combat Domestic Violence
Sojourner House has been chosen to receive one of 150 grants awarded by a leading national anti-domestic violence organization, the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation (MKACF). The $20,000 grant will be used to support basic client services at Sojourner House's emergency shelter in northern Rhode Island for women and their children made homeless by domestic violence.
